MenuGhost is made by Ilia Kudryavtsev ("we"). It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. This explains the little it does handle.
On your iPhone
- Your checks (the restaurant's link, name, address, our answer and its evidence) are saved on your iPhone, shared between the app and its Share menu, for 30 days. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Free checks used are counted in your iPhone's keychain, which can outlast deleting the app, so free checks don't reset. It holds only restaurant store numbers.
- The restaurant page you share is opened on your iPhone to read the restaurant's name, address and location. Nothing from it is sent to us.
Sent to MenuGhost's server (Convex, United States)
After each check: the restaurant's public link, a general area (like "New York"), our answer, the kinds of evidence behind it and the app version. If you answer "Was this right?", that answer. We use this to measure and improve accuracy and to review corrections. It contains nothing about you: no name, account, device ID or your location. Our hosting provider sees IP addresses as part of handling requests; we don't keep or use them. We keep these records as long as they help improve accuracy and may delete them anytime.
Our website and the correction form
The website menughost.app has no cookies, analytics or ads. If you use its form to tell us an answer is wrong, it sends our server (Convex, United States) the restaurant's link, name and our answer, your message, whether you own or work at the restaurant, and your email address only if you choose to give one so we can reply. We keep a request as long as we need it to handle it, and use your email only to reply about it.
Services the app uses
- Google Maps Platform (Places): to find the restaurant on Google and show its rating. Google receives the restaurant's name and location and technical device information, as described in Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). MenuGhost keeps only Google's place ID.
- Firebase App Check (Google): confirms requests come from the genuine MenuGhost app using Apple's App Attest or DeviceCheck. It sends a device attestation token, not personal information.
- Apple: Apple Maps for businesses at an address and for maps (in the Share menu the map is drawn by Apple's MapKit JS, which receives the restaurant's location); the App Store for purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account and handled by Apple; we never see your payment details.
What we don't do
No selling or sharing of personal data, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no location permission.
Children
MenuGhost isn't directed to children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their information.
Your choices
Delete the app to remove your history. Questions or requests: support@menughost.app. We'll update this policy if what the app handles changes, and show the date above.
