Terms of Use
Last updated: October 11, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Ilia Kudryavtsev ("MenuGhost", "we") about the MenuGhost app. By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What MenuGhost is
MenuGhost is a tool for your own ordering decisions. When you share a restaurant from a delivery app, MenuGhost opens that one restaurant page on your device, reads the restaurant's name, address and location, and compares them with public records, maps and Google to estimate whether it's a real restaurant, another restaurant's delivery-only brand, or a delivery-only kitchen, and to show its Google rating and health inspection.
- MenuGhost acts only when you ask it to, for the page you share. It doesn't visit delivery apps on its own, and what it reads from the page stays on your device.
- Use MenuGhost for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Don't use it to collect data about restaurants or delivery apps in bulk, or to build a database or another service.
2. Answers are estimates
Answers are estimates based on public information, which can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. A label describes where food is made, not its quality, safety or honesty, and isn't a statement about any business's conduct. Health inspections are shown as the agency published them, with their date; they describe kitchen conditions at that inspection. Don't rely on MenuGhost for health, allergy or safety decisions.
If you think an answer is wrong, especially about your own restaurant, tap "Is this wrong?" under it or write to support@menughost.app. We review requests, may show "Not sure" while we do, and correct answers that are wrong.
3. Other companies' services
- MenuGhost isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any delivery app. Their names are used only to say which links MenuGhost can check, and are trademarks of their owners. Your use of a delivery app is governed by that app's own terms.
- MenuGhost uses Google Maps features and content. Use of them is subject to the Google Maps Terms of Service (https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps/) and Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- Maps and places come from Apple Maps. Public records come from NYC Open Data and New York State Open Data; neither the City nor the State endorses MenuGhost.
4. Subscriptions
- Your first checks are free. After that, checking new restaurants needs a subscription, billed by Apple to your Apple Account: $9.99 a year or $1.99 a month (prices may vary by country and are shown before you buy).
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or from MenuGhost → About → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period stays active until it ends.
- Payments, refunds and renewals are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, including Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which also applies to MenuGhost. Ask Apple for refunds at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we change a price, Apple tells you first and, where required, asks for your agreement.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse MenuGhost: no automated or bulk use, no attempts to get around its limits, no reverse engineering except where the law allows it, and no use that breaks the law or other services' terms.
6. Disclaimers and limits
MenuGhost is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about its accuracy, completeness or availability, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on its answers. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for MenuGhost in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow some of these limits; then they apply as far as the law allows.
7. Changes and ending
We may update MenuGhost and these terms; if a change is significant we'll say so in the app. We may stop offering checks from a particular delivery app, or MenuGhost itself, at any time. You can stop using MenuGhost anytime.
8. Law
New York law governs these terms, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York County, New York, except where the law of your home state gives you other rights.
